UILLEAN PIPES
Colm Broderick
Colm Broderick is an award-winning uilleann piper from County Carlow, widely regarded as one of the leading musicians of his generation in Irish traditional music. A multiple All-Ireland champion, he received the prestigious Seán Ó Riada Gold Medal in 2021 and was named TG4’s Ceoltóir Óg (Young Musician of the Year) in 2025. In 2019, he was entrusted by Na Píobairí Uilleann with the historic Rowsome set of pipes once played by Liam O’Flynn and Willie Clancy - an honour reflecting both his artistry and his deep respect for the tradition. Colm has performed extensively in Ireland and internationally, and is also a dedicated teacher, sharing his knowledge through workshops and festivals such as Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy. He has performed for Michael D. Higgins at Áras an Uachtaráin and continues to represent Irish music on global stages. Through his playing, teaching, and stewardship of a rich musical heritage, Colm Broderick plays a vital role in shaping the future of the uilleann pipes.

ALL INSTRUMENTS - Sliabh Luachra Style
Niamh Dalton
Niamh Dalton is a highly accomplished concertina player from Gneeveguilla, County Kerry, a region deeply rooted in the rich musical tradition of Sliabh Luachra. Growing up in this vibrant musical heartland, Niamh has been immersed in the distinctive style of the area from an early age, carrying forward a legacy of traditional music passed down through generations. Following in the footsteps of esteemed Sliabh Luachra musicians, Niamh proudly traces her musical heritage to her great-grandfather, Thadelo Sullivan, as well as her great-grandaunts Nell and Liz Sullivan, who were renowned musicians in the United States. She also draws inspiration from legendary figures such as Denis Murphy and Julia Clifford, embodying the unique ornamentation, rhythm, and repertoire that define the Sliabh Luachra tradition. In addition to her performance career, Niamh is an experienced and dedicated music teacher. She has taught for many years at the Killarney School of Music. Niamh is also a tutor at the prestigious concertina festival Consairtín, as well as Scoil Samhradh Willie Clancy in Miltown Malbay.

MAGS GRACE
Flute/Tinwhistle
With over 20 years of experience playing the flute, Mags brings a deep-rooted passion for traditional music to her teaching. She grew up immersed in Irish music through her local Comhaltas branch, Ballycommon CCE, where she developed her skills on both flute and whistle and participated in Fleadh Cheoil competitions. Playing alongside her sisters from a young age, she has also performed at many weddings and events, fostering a strong sense of ensemble and musical connection. In addition to flute, Mags is an accomplished pianist, having completed Grades 1–8 with the Royal Irish Academy of Music. Now based in Sydney, she is an active member of the local traditional music scene and can often be found playing at sessions around the city.

HELEN COUGHLAN
Fiddle
Helen Coughlan is a fiddle player from Skibbereen in West Cork. She has been immersed in traditional Irish music from a young age and comes from a musical family. Helen holds numerous All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil medals, most recently in the 2025 Senior Céilí Band competition as a member of the Drombeg Céilí Band and in the Senior Duet competition. She has performed both nationally and internationally at concerts, workshops, and Fleadh’s. She has also featured on Fleadh programmes on RTE, TG4 and Comhaltas Live.
Helen has recently relocated to Sydney and has quickly immersed herself in the Sydney Irish music scene. She is excited to experience her first Sydney Fleadh!

PATRICK CARR
Banjo/Mandolin
Patrick Carr is a multi-instrumentalist from Glencolmcille, County Donegal, deeply influenced by the rich musical traditions of southwest Donegal. He has toured extensively across Ireland and the UK with a variety of country and wedding bands, gaining wide performance experience across different settings. Now a familiar face on the Sydney gigging scene he is looking forward to sharing his approach to banjo playing as part of the banjo /mandolin workshop.

JAMES LINEHAN
BODHRÁN
James linehan is bodhrán player from Millstreet, Co. Cork, with a strong musical background rooted in family tradition. He has won All-Ireland medals in music and has extensive experience both performing and teaching the bodhrán. He's passionate about sharing the rhythm and energy of the instrument with players of all levels.

BENNO STEPHENSON
Guitar
A founding member of seminal Australian Trad band Trouble in the Kitchen, Benno has risen to become one of Australia’s most sought-after Irish musicians. He is much in demand as a recording artist and has been a featured soloist on various film & television projects, including the major hollywood movie Australia. Alongside co-founding the award winning South-Coast-based Tara Distillery, Benno has more recently gained a fierce reputation as one of Australia's top guitar-backers for Irish music, and has toured with some incredible musicians such as fiddle maestro Manus McGuire and legendary Irish piper Paddy Keenan.

RUTH NÍ CHULLAIGH
Sean Nós Singing
Ruth Ní Chullaigh comes from the Ráth Chairn Gaeltacht, in Co Meath. She grew up immersed in the Irish language and culture at home and in her community. She started sean nós singing at the age of 7 in her local school and with her local comhaltas branch CCÉ Tlachtga. She has taught sean nós singing in her role as an Irish language teacher for many years. She takes great inspiration from her great-granduncle Darach Ó Catháin, who was a renowned sean nós singer.

Margaret Winnett
Margaret Winnett brings many decades of experience in traditional Irish dancing to her workshops and performances. Having travelled to Ireland on countless occasions to collect and research the dances she teaches, Margaret combines deep knowledge with a passion for sharing Irish dance traditions. Her attention to detail and engaging teaching style create a fun, welcoming atmosphere while helping dancers achieve a high standard. Join Margaret for a lively Céilí warm-up workshop as she brings out the very best of Irish dancing in everyone
